Where Lovers Go
Speaking on the song’s topic, Fredrik Nilsson, the project’s creator relays, “The song is about two people in midlife (…) they can start over and find each other and fall in love again”. Reflecting on the maturity of middle life, Nilsson talks about being inspired by “people around me who were getting to that point in life. Some get divorced and some fall back in love…”
Recorded in WinterlandStudio in may, the song was completely produced by Nilsson himself.
A music enthusiast from an early age, Fredrik Nilsson has played with several bands over the years, allowing him to develop a mature sound, which permeated his previous project, the band Waterhill.
Swedish rock solo project Winterland returns with “Where Lovers Go”, a dynamic song about second chances. With a more straightforward sound to the one of his previous songs, the song reminds of the sound of tracks like Tom Petty’s “Runnin’ Down A Dream”.
Nilsson’s Winterland got signed to Gothenburg-based Rexius Records in 2021. He’s now preparing for the release of ”Where Lovers Go”, on August 19th.
