Run

Run

Swedish band One Light’s second single “Run” encapsulates the expressive power of simplicity. Evoking that “by your side” heartwarming feel that captivates audiences on live arena performances, the song’s memorable, easygoing pop-rock melodies have the potential to become a new favorite for fans of acts like Kings of Leon or NEEDTOBREATHE.

Jumping straight to its majestic uplifting sound from the very first second, “Run” is a confirmation of the previously established impression that One Light would be a perfect soundtrack to sport events. The five-part vocal sing-alongs and the skillful, stadium-like modern production by Alexander Asp contribute to this monumental atmosphere.

The track presents a more intimate character than its predecessor “Edge of a Knife”: This time it’s about the inspiring nature of supportive love. “Run” presents a type of lyricism that draws One Light closer to Swedish pop artists like Thomas Stenström. It’s no coincidence that the band was recently chosen as a support act for the singer.

This isn’t the first time the quintet has performed as an opening band for a prominent Swedish artist: In their previous projects, winning a “battle of the bands” opened the door for live appearances such as their support for national Idol winner Chris Kläfford.

Formed in the city of Helsingborg, a southern town advertised as “The friendliest city in Sweden”, One Light is an homage to the elements that made arena rock bands like Coldplay or U2 famous. But beyond stadium conventions, the band’s top-notch Swedish approach to production throws a modern spell into the mix.

One Light signed to Rexius Records in the summer of 2018. The band is now preparing for the release of their second single “Run” on October 25th, followed by a self-titled album produced by Alexander Asp that will be available this winter.
