“Grey” – Withering Under the Sun’s Black Light

Lyrika’s Expressive New Single

Swedish indie rock band Lyrika is set to release their latest single, “Grey,” on October 25th. With a dark, atmospheric sound reminiscent of Placebo and expressive melodies akin to The Killers, the song explores themes of inner darkness and how it alters one’s perception of the world.

Inspired by personal experiences, “Grey” explores the emotional turmoil of someone going through a life crisis. It poignantly captures how, when trapped in an internal struggle, the beauty others see can feel distant and colorless, perceived only in shades of grey, colored by the black light of the sun.

Written by Lyrika and produced, mixed, and mastered by band member Ole Dohrmann, the song’s evocative lyrics and powerful crescendo convey a haunting sense of desperation, revealing how internal struggles can distort our view of the world.

Since forming in 2015, Lyrika has fused introspective themes with passionate performances. Their music reflects a wide range of topics, including mental health, politics, and the challenges of everyday life, channeling the unique synergy between band members.

Following the release of their self-titled album Lyrika in 2022, which led to their signing with Rexius Records, the band has released various singles over the past two years. Don’t miss the release of “Grey” on October 25th, a haunting portrait of a personal crisis.
