Marr Not Meeger – Music to Navigate Life
An Introspective Emerging Voice in Indie Pop
Marr Not Meeger is an Irish indie pop singer-songwriter who uses music as a lifeline for navigating life’s never-ending challenges. Inspired by artists like Clairo and Phoebe Bridgers, her introspective songs laced with witty observation serve as companion pieces to life’s most important moments. She began writing songs during her teenage years on her mother’s unused old guitar. She then started singing lessons, which were a turning point in her life, helping her overcome intense shyness and self-consciousness while awakening a deep love for performing.
At 17 years old, she finished high school and moved from Switzerland to Paris to study music. Since then, she has been growing as a musician, learning how to produce her own songs, as well as play the piano and the bass. Whether it be joined by her friends or just her guitar, she has a certain charisma on stage that has helped her evolve in Paris’ live music scene. An immigrant in France, she often has to correct the pronunciation of her last name. She embraces the confusion, turning the clarification into her artist name, as a nod to her lighthearted personality.
Driven by her deep love for songwriting, fierce ambition, and semi-ironic self-confidence, she blends elements of indie rock, indie pop, and folk into her sincere and evocative lyrics. Her songs, written like journal pages, reflect her personal journey, exploring themes of loss, coming of age, anxiety, navigating social interactions, and love.
Since her 2023 debut, Marr Not Meeger has released various singles and an EP. In 2024, she signed with Rexius Records, marking a new chapter in her artistic evolution. With her evocative songwriting and genre-blending sound, she is set to share more of her deeply personal yet widely relatable music with the world, constantly striving for bigger and better things.
