A Sincere and Profound Emerging Voice in Experimental Pop

Jazz Calls Home is the experimental pop project of Spanish-Colombian artist Jazz Alvarado Segovia. Drawing inspiration from artists like Björk and SOPHIE, her electronic soundscapes transform personal experiences into immersive sonic tapestries.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, into a family of music lovers and musicians of Andalusian, Swedish, and Kazakh descent, Jazz began her musical journey at the age of 3. After early cello lessons and performing in youth orchestras, she became a professional songwriter in her teens. This career path was paused and later resumed after she completed her university studies in film scoring and music production.

Political unrest in Colombia abruptly changed Jazz’s life, forcing her to emigrate to Montreal, Canada. This sudden change became the catalyst for her solo career, driven by the powerful emotions of isolation and loneliness in a new country.

A talented sound sculptor, Jazz blends experimental electronic sounds with genres like glitch pop, fluxwork, and electropop. Her deeply personal lyrics serve as tools for profound self-expression and emotional processing, channeling traumatic experiences and exploring dystopian themes to cope with the complexities of life.

Since her 2020 debut, Jazz Calls Home has released two EPs, an album, and several singles. In 2024, Jazz signed with Rexius Records, ready to share more of her unique soundscapes with the world.
