An Expressive Emerging Voice in Swedish Electropop

Zynthio is the electropop project of Swedish trance producer Henrik Nilsson. Inspired by trance icons like Photographer and Above & Beyond, its music shapes ethereal soundscapes that mirror the complexities of life, blending electropop, shimmer pop, chillwave, and trance subgenres like uplifting and progressive trance to create a unique sound.

Long before becoming the creative force behind Zynthio, Henrik Nilsson’s lifelong musical journey was marked by his love of synths and DJing. Starting with a keyboard gifted by his mother at age 10, his high school years were filled with musical performances and a passion that led him to enroll in music school.

Henrik released his first two tracks with the duo ProjecT-H alongside producer Tim until eventually transitioning into a solo career. His first solo releases came in 2019 under his full name “Henrik Nilsson,” an artist name under which he released various singles over the past four years.

Henrik’s sound has constantly evolved over the years. His songs reveal an intimate and vulnerable side of his life experiences, showcasing a rich and deep emotional resonance. His song “Forever,” dedicated to his late girlfriend, who passed away in 2015 amidst the chaos of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, kickstarted his long-term collaboration with the iconic Jan Johnston, a powerful voice featured in the songs of some of the most iconic trance artists in the world, such as Paul Oakenfold, Brian Transeau, Paul van Dyk, and Tiësto, among others.

Continuing his fruitful collaborations with Jan Johnston, Henrik adopted his high school nickname “Zynthio” for the exploration of new sounds. The project signed with Rexius Records in 2024, ready to share more of Henrik’s expressive sound with the world.
