“Roar” by Winterland: Embracing Nature’s Wilderness

A Heartfelt Communion with the Earth

Swedish rock solo project Winterland is ready to unveil its latest single, “Roar,” on October 6th. With its vibrant synths and Winterland’s signature Yacht rock-inspired sound, the song channels the influences of artists like Chris Rea, The War On Drugs, and Dire Straits.

The song draws inspiration from the story of Dick Proenneke, a man who ventured into the Alaskan wilderness in the 1960s, building a log cabin and living off nature for the rest of his days.

“Roar” takes its listeners on a profound journey, echoing the raw beauty of the wilderness and its communion with an individual. The song was written, produced, and mixed by Fredrik Nilsson, the mastermind behind Winterland, in Winterland Studio, and mastered by Björn Engelmann at Cuttingroom Studio.

Winterland transports listeners to a world of imagery, evoking nostalgia and capturing the essence of classic rock. Known for its depth and emotional richness, the project has released several singles over the past two years and a self-titled album earlier this year.

After signing with Rexius Records in 2021, Winterland has continually evolved its classic rock sound. The project is also preparing to release a new album next year with the label.

Don’t miss the release of Winterland’s evocative single, “Roar,” this October 6th.
