Winterland
Personal reflections on life
Swedish rock solo project Winterland develops an intimate, atmospheric sound in its self-titled LP debut. Influenced by artists like John Hiatt, Hall & Oates and Fleetwood Mac, the album’s reflective sounds nourish a personal connection with the listener.
“It’s about life and a glimpse into my head”, reveals the project’s creator, Fredrik Nilsson, who assembled an album that develops an interesting signature sound without forsaking the innate versatility of each of its tracks.
With songs that portray Fredrik’s experiences and his thoughts on others, “Winterland” reveals a more intimate side of the artist with a sound he describes as “a little tighter and synth influenced”.
Recorded in 2022 in Winterland Studio, the songs were entirely written, produced and mixed by Fredrik Nilsson, who enlisted the help of Björn Engelmann for the process of mastering.
A music enthusiast from an early age, Fredrik Nilsson has played with several bands over the years, allowing him to develop a mature sound, which permeated his previous project, the band Waterhill.
Nilsson’s Winterland got signed to Gothenburg-based Rexius Records in 2021. He’s now preparing for the release of “Winterland” on March 10th.
